Our Story

The Foundation and Vision

Founded in 2007 by Jaimy Hancroft, Death Row Designs began as a spark of creativity fueled by a profound passion for design. Jaimy's initial foray into clothing design, leveraging her Photoshop skills, marked the inception of a brand that would come to redefine the boundaries of virtual creativity. The evolution from clothing to sculpted accessories set the stage for DRD's ascension in the virtual market.

A Family of Innovators

As the brand's vision expanded, so did its repertoire, moving from clothing to accessories and beyond. The introduction of 3D mesh technology marked a pivotal turn in DRD's journey, with Eowyn Swords, Jaimy's talented sister, joining the fray in 2014. Together, they pushed the boundaries of virtual design, their combined skills bringing DRD's distinctive style to the forefront of Second Life's marketplace.
Our recognition soared with the advent of our gacha sets, and we soon became a name synonymous with quality and complexity in design.

The Growth of the DRD Family

In the ever-evolving world of Death Row Designs, our family has flourished, with each member infusing fresh energy into our collective vision. Charlotte Bailey, who came aboard in 2016, has been the cornerstone of customer care, ensuring every interaction with DRD is smooth and satisfying. Moon Watanabe joined to manage our dynamic group of bloggers, while also extending her talents to customer service and keeping our community chat lively. Sixdigital, initially part of the Eclipse event, has grown to become a valued customer service representative.

As DRD’s journey continued, 2019 welcomed Qzxr, whose consistent helpfulness within the group made her an obvious choice for the team. Conner, a long-time friend of DRD and Moon's partner, joined us, adding his strengths to our burgeoning brand. Around the same time, we welcomed Fallen, a scripting maestro responsible for creating the infamous DRDBOT, which has become an essential part of the DRD experience.

In 2021, the widely celebrated opening of the Scarlett Hotel introduced us to the scripting enchantments of Quron Dagger, whose sporadic but impactful contributions have added a layer of magic to DRD. The following year, during the hauntingly memorable Nightmare at Elmcreek, Jessie Dannitza came on board, bringing an intimate knowledge of our store's inner workings.

Resilience and Expansion

The subsequent year tested us, with Moon and Conner facing challenges that led them away from regular contributions. Doc Mercery, a long-time blogger for DRD, stepped in as a moderator, bringing dedication and familiarity to the role. Melinda Guyot, a dear friend and an IRL collaborator with Jaimy from past ventures, joined to manage HISA, another of our ventures, strengthening the bonds of our DRD family.

Embracing the winds of change, 2024 was a year of new faces and renewed vigor. We proudly introduced Cai Trevellion, Evelette Finesmith (also known as Eden) as CSRs, and Sketchkat Blackflag as a moderator. Janna Whiskers came on board to amplify our voice in the social media realm. Together, we've become not just a team but a vibrant, diverse family bound by a shared love for creativity, community, and the immersive world of Second Life.

A Legacy of Innovation and Community

At DRD, we believe our strength lies in our community. We are more than a brand; we are a collective of dreamers, creators, and storytellers, bound by a shared passion for the extraordinary. Our journey is a testament to the power of creativity, collaboration, and community. As we look to the future, we are excited to continue pushing the boundaries of virtual design, building on our legacy of innovation and excellence.

Together, we look forward to bringing more unique, immersive experiences to Second Life, always remembering that at the heart of every creation is our community. Thank you for joining us on this incredible journey. Here's to many more years of creativity, exploration, and shared success.
